Kyler Salisbury, Cobain Mayes, and Cael Heuer competed in Rocket League, while Kristian Waldner, Savannah Fiedler, Lucas Johnson, and Matthew Meyer qualified in Minecraft-Bed Wars. Mr. Austin Olson coached both teams.

The Minecraft-Bed Wars team achieved a commendable 4th-place finish in the state. After qualifying for the finals, the team faced tough competition, losing to the eventual state runner-up, Aberdeen Central, in the first round and then to Sioux Falls O'Gorman in the 3rd place match. The team's performance, especially against larger schools, marks a significant accomplishment in their first year of competition.

"Finishing 4th in the state in their first year of competition, especially when matched up against some of the largest schools in the state in the finals, is an amazing accomplishment for the team," said Jon Meyer, Superintendent/Activities Director at Waverly-South Shore School and ECC Conference Chairman.

The Waverly-South Shore community congratulates all the state tournament participants and celebrates the Minecraft-Bed Wars team's fourth-place finish.
